CURRICULUM & PROGRAMS

EUREKA MATH/ENGAGE NY

Our math curriculum is all about building knowledge - not just skills. Building deep, lasting understanding rather than just memorizing. Knowledge about the real world, rather than hypothetical scenarios. Knowledge through consistent core skill development, rather than reinventing the wheel with each lesson. And the knowledge that builds upon itself for richer connections throughout the learning process. Every child has unlimited potential and is capable of greatness.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS

Our school uses HMH Into Reading, a comprehensive literacy program designed to develop reading, writing, and comprehension skills while fostering a love for learning. The curriculum offers engaging fiction and nonfiction texts, personalized support for students at different levels, and tools to monitor progress. It also integrates social-emotional learning themes to promote empathy and resilience. With family engagement activities included, parents can actively support their child’s literacy journey at home.

SOCIAL STUDIES

Passport to Social Studies is the NYC DOE’s inquiry-based curriculum that helps students explore history, geography, economics, and civics through engaging lessons. It encourages critical thinking and analysis of diverse perspectives using primary sources, maps, and artifacts. The program fosters empathy and social-emotional learning while developing research, writing, and discussion skills. Through this approach, students build an understanding of their community, the broader world, and their role as informed citizens.

SCIENCE

Amplify Science is a science curriculum that blends hands-on investigations, literacy-rich activities, and interactive digital tools to empower students to think, read, write, and argue like real scientists and engineers. It is designed to spark our elementary students’ interest and empower them to ask more questions, think more critically, and generate innovative ideas.

esl & enl

English as a Second Language (ESL) and English as a New Language (ENL) Program Our school is proud to offer ESL and ENL programs to support multilingual learners in building their English language skills. These programs are designed to meet the diverse needs of students whose home language is not English, helping them succeed both academically and socially. Through small group instruction and integrated classroom support, students develop proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. We also celebrate cultural diversity, fostering an inclusive environment where every child feels welcome and valued. Our dedicated teachers work closely with families to ensure students are supported at home and school, creating a smooth transition into the new learning environment.

physical education

Our Physical Education program is designed to promote healthy habits, teamwork, and lifelong fitness among students. Through a variety of fun and engaging activities, students develop essential motor skills, build physical endurance, and learn the importance of sportsmanship. In alignment with NYC DOE standards, the program emphasizes both individual and group activities, encouraging students to explore different sports and physical challenges. We focus on fostering a positive relationship with physical activity, ensuring all students—regardless of skill level—feel included and supported. Our goal is to equip students with the knowledge and motivation to maintain an active lifestyle beyond the classroom.
